A No4 Clifton Village Wedding Reception | Pablo & Kimberley

After a bit of a hiatus from my blog it’s time to get back into the swing of things with Pablo and Kim’s wedding and their No4 Clifton Village Wedding reception.

I started the day off by heading to the Avon Gorge hotel where Kim was getting ready.  Usually this part of the day can be fairly manic but there was an air of calm in the room while the hair and make-up was being taken care of by Grace.  I took this chance to grab a few shots of some of the details like Kim’s stunning bouquet and managed to grab a quick shot of Kim ironing on the day of her wedding!

Soon it was time for me to head off to the Bristol Registry Office on Corn Street to get ready for Kim and her father’s arrival.

A quick re-arrangement and it was time to get inside before the rain descended on us.

It’s always nice to be able to capture the reaction of wedding guests as the ceremony is taking place.

It’s a common instruction from the registrars not to photograph the actual signing of the marriage register so I thought I’d try and get a little creative while Pablo and Kim put pen to paper.  Soon after the marriage was official and it was time for the bridge and groom to run the gauntlet of the confetti throwing.

From the registry office everyone jumped into cars and headed up to Clifton to the Rodney Hotel where Pablo & Kim were having their wedding reception at No4 Clifton Village.

I really enjoy photographing weddings at No4 Clifton Village as it’s a lovely intimate venue with a hidden gem of a walled garden, unfortunately the weather decided to put a stop on the wedding guests being able to make the most of the garden during Pablo and Kim’s wedding.

For their table’s Pablo and Kim had chosen a rustic theme with the table runners and bunting which worked really well with the stripped wooden floorboards and tables of No4.

When the rain decided to ease off a little we made a break for it and headed outside for some bride and groom portraits.  The suspension bridge is currently undergoing some repair work so we made out way onto the bridge itself for a few photographs then made our way back through Clifton to the hotel stopping on the way to capture a few more portraits.

I have a very relaxed approach to my portraits and try not to make my couples feel overly posed as I want them to feel relaxed in front of the camera.

Following the speeches I grabbed a few photographs of the guests enjoying the casino tables that had been setup before leaving Pablo and Kim to enjoy their evening with close friends, a bit of fun poker, music and drinking – what better way is there to end a perfect day.
