Chichester Wedding Photographer | St Pauls Church
Last year I was asked if I would be willing to donate a prize for a feature she was writing for Wedding Ideas magazine and to which I duly obliged. Fast forward a couple of months and I receive a phone call from what sounds like someone who was a little upset. Now about 30 minutes earlier I’d just sent an email to Natalie informing her that she’d been picked from the entrants and she was the winner and I would be happy to go along and photograph her wedding. What I didn’t know was that the previous evening Natalie & Simon (her husband to be) had made the decision that they could only afford to book a photographer for the duration of their service only as a result of budget constraints so with the timing of my email Natalie though someone was playing a very cruel trick on them.
Once I’d explained I was someone who played tricks on brides-to-be and that it was a genuine offer then I was greeted with the sounds of sobbing, in all honesty this wasn’t quite the kind of call I’d been expecting! Anyway after a few more phonecalls and emails explaining how Simon had romantically sent Natalie on a bit of a treasure hunt around London ending up with him and an engagement ring as the prize everything was all set for me to leave Bristol and become a Chichester Wedding Photographer for the day.
It genuinely felt like I’d known Natalie & Simon for a very long time and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to be there to capture their wedding day as it unfolded. It was all too obvious how much this wedding meant to the pair of them and their families and hopefully this selection of my favourite images from the day will go some way to showing that.
The day started off at Natalie’s parents house which was quite calm when you take into account there was a bride, mother of the bride, grandmother, five bridesmaids, father and a couple of brothers all getting ready there!
The wedding ceremony itself was taking place at St Paul’s Church in Chichester with the added bonus of Simon’s grandfather taking the ceremony. As you can see, Natalie looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in her Maggie Sottero wedding dress that she’d been able to find online for a bargain price.
After the ceremony guests were treated to tea and cake in the church hall while I was able to capture some portraits of the bridal party. I still have no idea what the boys were up to and the reason for the jumping shot but with some of the facial expressions I figured it was a shot that had to be shared.
With tea and cake now being finished the guests headed off to Barnham Community Hall for the reception while I was able to capture some lovely portraits of the newlyweds.
All of the decorations were all handmade by Natalie, with the favours being made by Natalie’s mother who run’s a homemade marmalade business and the venue had been set up and styled by Natalie, Simon and their many friends the night before the wedding and it really goes to show that getting married isn’t about how much money you can throw at a wedding.
There was also cakes…..lots of cakes
Simon also had a visit from an old friend…….
It really was a fantastic day to be a part of and I’m so glad to be able to have captured Natalie & Simon’s wedding day for them.
If you are getting married in Chichester and need a wedding photographer then please do get in touch, it’s a lovely part of the world and I’d be happy to travel back. If you want to save on the travelling for me and just want a Bristol Wedding Photographer then why not get in touch too!
